It’s 8 a.m. on Draft Day and I don’t know about you but I’m getting food ready. Here are the actual ribs for today’s meal to be served at roughly the time after the 16th pick is taken (I’m not really that dorky it’s just going to turn out that way). They’re now marinating. Instead of doing “Louisiana” ribs, I’ve gone with a “Carolina” style rub and homemade sauce. There aren’t any South Florida style ribs I know of but I’m going to work on that for next year. Side dishes are a jicama slaw and baked beans. Now I have to do a grocery run for some of the fixings, drinks etc. I’ll be back in plenty of time for pre-draft talk.
I get few excuses to grill ribs (my favorite food). To get around the wife issue, I have to invent a reason to cook up the meaty goodness. April 29, 2006 is as good a reason as any. As coverage kicks off around 11 a.m. local time I’ll be firing up the grill for some slow cooked “Louisiana” styled ribs. It’ll be my first time trying that recipe but it sounds good. This is just a generic rib photo. What do you guys do for the Draft? Chips/dip? Wings? I cook mean wings too but for the Draft I’m bringing out the big guns.
