Yesterday was amazing. The morning started off sunny and beautiful. Who would have thought a Bears game in November would be 50 degrees and sunny. Here are some shots of the walk to the game. Of course it got a bit cloudier and colder as the day went on...
If you guys haven’t been to Soldier Field it’s an interesting stadium. The old exterior still stands and looks as awe-inspiring as any monuments in Washington D.C. The new spaceship part juts up like Superman’s fortress of solitude in the Arctic, like it isn’t supposed to be there. On its own the new design would’ve been fine but this futuristic look stinks, except from inside.
From our seats, second deck 25-yard line or so, we had a great view of the field. I was wearing a Marino jersey and there were about one Miami fan per every hundred Bears fan I would guess. Most Bears fans were fine with it thinking that this would be a blow out so they didn't bother me. I think I got two obscenely negative comments during the game mostly when walking to the bathroom.
Let's just all say it, Jason Taylor is amazing. If Brian Urlacher can single-handedly win a game for the Bears, JT can dominate a QB any time he wants. Grossman looked like he had been sacked before a hand was ever laid on him. The Giants should thank the Dolphins for showing them how to beat the Bears. Strahan will be Grossman’s new best friend I’m sure.
As for the game, each turnover blew me away and even with the missed opportunities before half I was the happiest Dolphins fan around. The second half was even better. Looking at the final stats and seeing how close they were is interesting. Shows what six turnovers can do in the NFL. You can’t come back from that.
Other thoughts: There is a weird vibe to the sound generated in Soldier Field. I wouldn’t say it’s “artificial” but it sure has a strange reverb to it that doesn’t sound realistic. The stadium was about an eight full when the Dolphins came on the field for warm-ups and the boos sounded way too loud.
We had a great time though and I couldn’t’ believe my first game of the season turned out so damn well. Here are some more pictures from the day.

Grea pics!
Nice to see the real Miami Dolphins show up for a game - it's about damn time! Hey, Kuchenburg should give the pre-game speech every week from now on! Sad that it has taken the team 8 weeks to figure out that they can CAN put it all together and compete against anyone.
Bell should start from now on and Jason Allen proved he has talent! Life won't get any easier with the Chiefs coming to town, but if they play like they did against the Bears, nothing is impossible!

well Joey sure wasn't amazing or anything. but yes, we should be able to play that hard every week. I still say we're playing for a draft pick but we'll probably win out the rest of the season, miss the playoffs and get a middle rounder, and no 2nd rounder this year either. sigh.
But yes, yesterday was a reason to be proud of the team at least.
