At this point of the off-season I have the sneaking suspicion that Nick Saban was a psychiatrist in a former life. He has a deep need to bring in troubled players and work with them into a team environment. And not just any team, the Miami Dolphins. The latest news is that Kyle Turley, most known as the extremely talented offensive tackle that went nuts and threw an opposing player’s helmet, is in town to try out at tight end. Huh?
Now, if Turley was coming in as a tackle I’d have NO complaints about his off the field issues. He was a really good tackle and the Dolphins could use a really good tackle. But a tight end? At least he’d be able to block I guess. Is that position somehow easier on his bad back? None of this makes sense. Friday brain freeze!!!!

According to reports, Turley looked "smooth" getting in/out of his patterns. If playing at 260lbs helps his back, and something keeps his head screwed on straight, you can't argue much against adding a 6'-5" former LT at TE. Obviously, he knows blocking techniques, so it's just a matter of how good his hands are. Maybe if Saban just tells him to imagine the football is the other team's helmet...
