There is probably the occasional reader that is coming to this blog from one of my other blogs, like FireJeffZucker.com or OrangeandTeal.com. To that reader I say “Welcome.” Now you’re probably asking: WTF is Deadline Publishing?
Deadline Publishing started out as the business name for my freelancing career, a nice little company to be an umbrella for all my writing business. Lately, I see Deadline Publishing as the umbrella for all my new publishing endeavors, but that means more blogs than print stories these days. Instead of pitching articles to editors all day, I’m flexing my “pundit” muscle on the Miami Dolphins and television.
Both are examples of what I think will be the future of blogging, niche blogging.
FireJeffZucker.com was actually the brainchild of my wife and she’s heading up most of the daily content. I handle the design and the show reviews. Since, you know, I’ve written a few reviews in my day. But it’s the first blog I’ve done on my own that has received a lot of traction in the mainstream media. We’ve been featured in major blogs from USAToday and the LA Times. That wife of mine is a genius.
Orange and Teal has been around since March and I wanted to work all the kinks out before the NFL season started. Traffic was more than steady during the lead-up to the draft and during major stories like the Culpepper signing. I expect big things once pre-season starts and there’s more news to report.
Now we just need some advertising to make this whole thing legit. E-mail me if you’d like to reach all of our new and existing readers.
